Link: Obama Names Watchdog for Federal Programs

President-elect Barack Obama named Nancy Killefer as his administration’s chief performance officer, creating a new White House position as part of an effort to eliminate government waste and improve efficiency.

This is all well and good, although every president since Eisenhower has vowed to root out fraud, waste and mismanagement in government, only to turn around and increase it. What the AP reporter really missed in this lede was the opportunity to call out what the salary of the new “chief performance officer” would be.
