As you point out, it is frustrating when 20 or so people show up unexpectedly at your office. Thanks for being nice. I know my mom appreciates it.
Current score: 0 (to vote for this comment, please visit the site)

Sadly only because these people showed up expecting an appointment that was never scheduled and, like your meeting with Diane Fienstein, you really didn’t get to meet the Senator.

You’re right, it is part of the job, and one that, from what I understand, most staffers handled very well (i.e. your experience). This kind of thing is part of the job, particularly for someone like Wyden, who's backing the most conservative option, the one that the drug companies (and very few consumers) want.I like McCaskill a lot, but after seeing how she handled her mob at the town hall yesterday, I felt sorry for her. As a democratic senator in a red state, she doesn't have a lot of wiggle room, but it didn't seem like she walked into the room with a lot of rhetorical ammunition, you know?I know this kind of thing isn't easy, and I told Feinstein's guys as much -- I made sure to thank them for their time before I left.
Current score: 0 (to vote for this comment, please visit the site)

Sadly? She works for Sen. Wyden, so at least he is in a position to have an opinion on which proposal to endorse (http://blogs.tnr.com/tnr/blogs/the_treatment/archive/2009/07/15/exclusive-you-want-choice-ron-wyden-has-an-idea-for-you.aspx) but was one of the people who had to take care of the unexpected crowds. In McCaskill's defense, there are a number of proposals on the table, but you're right, they should all have an opinion by now.If I ever start a band, it might be called ZVBC.
Current score: 0 (to vote for this comment, please visit the site)

Sadly, my mother is one of the staffers that got caught off guard by the Organizing for America project.
