I’m in New York on vacation this week.
I saw Christo’s Gates today and it was really cool. I feel incredibly lucky to have seen it in person. I was even more excited to have scored a swatch of the fabric. (They give them out to people as souvenirs.) I will frame this when I get home and keep it forever.
I cried for about twenty minutes when I heard that Hunter S. Thompson killed himself today. That cry was about nineteen minutes longer than when I’d heard my father died. Clearly there are some unexplored feelings here.
It’s snowing here tonight.
I’ll be very happy when my family joins me here on Thursday. I hope the snow is still here so I can share it with my daughter.
