Skweezer

Very neat idea: Skweezer takes any Web page, rip out the gunk, and displays it in a format that’s more friendly to mobile devices (such as my beloved Samsung i700). They serve up their own ad on the top and the bottom of the recombobulated page to make it worth their while.

Nice jujitsu, but a little problematic for pages that require a log-in, though — since the pages are essentially being proxied through the Skweezer site, you have to submit your password through Skweezer for their magic to work. Hope they’re trustworthy. I might use this for content sites like the New York Times but I don’t think I’ll be using this to get to my PayPal account or anything like that.

i love skweezer! in fact, i use it a lot to move money aournd on my banking site. i looked into their security FAQs, and i read that they double-encrypt each transaction. so that’s probably as good as paypal, ebay, amazon, and all the other e-shopping sites out there.
