Here’s another Y! Music Unlimited pick for all of you out in internet radio land. Rubin Steiner appears to be comprised of two turntables and a microphone spot-welded into a pair of unwashed lederhosen backed by a jazz band made up of swinging Barvarian-engineered robots with a few circuit boards missing. If you love the downtempo jazzy loops like I do, this is for you. It’s weird, wild stuff. To get a good sense of what he’s all about, check out "Lo-Fi Nu Jazz #11" and "Lo-Fi Nu Jazz #6" from his 2002 record Lo-Fi Nu Jazz Vol. 2 as well as "Murderation" from his 2005 release Drum Major!.
