What Does Getting Rid of All The Immigrants Look Like?
Link: Towns Rethink Laws Against Illegal Immigrants
"The business district is fairly vacant now, but it’s not the legitimate businesses that are gone," [the former mayor of Riverside, N.J.] said. "It’s all the ones that were supporting the illegal immigrants, or, as I like to call them, the criminal aliens."
How inspiring it must be to have a completely culturally pure downtown business district, completely devoid of both immigrants and businesses. I can see why this dude is the ex-mayor.
Never been here before, never coming back. However, perhaps you should stick to tech subjects since a) it’s not about “immigrants”, and b) there’s the strong possibility that the NYT isn’t telling the whole truth, yet you didn’t acknowledge that possibility.
The unbelievably hostile comments that my posts on immigration consistently receive is a clear indication that I need to keep doing them.
I was the child of an immigrant long before I was a technologist. But first and foremost, I’m a small business owner who is concerned about what all this small-minded xenophobia is doing to our economy.
well a quick look at the linked article should raise a few questions and comments. First it came from the NY TIMES, second the cafe they show in the first picture, when they first opened they prominently displayed a sign the “AMERICANS NOT WELCOMED”, the hair/nailk salon was closed for a while because they had “unliscensed operators”. Riverside is a town that was built by immigrants mainly LEGAL IMMIGRANTS, most recently from Portugal, gee they look latin yet they are welcomed by most (there are rascists everywhere).
