Little Dragon
Hello, there, Yukimi Nagano, you very groovy Japanese/Swedish/American reincarnation of Billie Holiday. Your band, Little Dragon, just released a full-length album, but you’ve been playing gigs for some time, haven’t you. Yes, you have. Man, I totally blanked out this week; I found out the day of the concert that Little Dragon was opening for Jose Gonzalez at the Lucerna Music Bar. Meh.
After a couple of listenings, I’m not sure about this record. I like it fine and all, but it’s a step back toward R&B orthodoxy after the fine work Yukimi’s done with Hird and Koop. That said, ‘Test’ is pretty cool.
I think they are playing in Bratislava in June. Road trip!
